Rob Phaal joined the Centre for Technology Management at the University of Cambridge in 1997, where he conducts research in the area of strategic technology management. Particular interests include technology evaluation, the emergence of technology-based industry, the use of visual techniques for strategy, and the development of practical management tools. Rob has a mechanical engineering background, with a PhD in computational mechanics and industrial experience in technical consulting, contract research and software development.
Paul O’Connor, founder and managing director of The Adept Group, has been a major force and a creative voice in the field of new product development (NPD) over the past 25 years. During this time, he has developed and implemented a number of innovative approaches to creativity, innovation, and productivity in NPD. His clients include a wide range of global companies across different industries. O’Connor also teaches a wide range of master courses and workshops and is a frequent speaker at professional organization meetings and corporate seminars. He has addressed audiences on a wide variety of topics ranging from Product Line Road Mapping to NPD portfolio analytics and optimization.
