Chain-Link
One operational segment of the value-creating chain. Seven internal chain-links — Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing — each carry the archetype’s signature in how they work. Four external ecosystems — Suppliers, Distributors and Channel, Regulators, and Customers — sit outside the company and can be sensed and navigated, not governed. Defined in Chapter 6 of Winning the Race. The chain is where the business model lives and gets read. See also Business Model, Flow Coherence, Flow Resonance, Capacity-to-Absorb.
